Though only 18 years old, Amy is making a promising career for herself as a singer and songwriter. Born and bred in London, Amy spends any spare time she has whilst working hard for her A-Level exams playing piano and recording countless covers of songs she loves and writing her own original songs.

 

Amy recorded her first original song 'In The Spotlight' saying "it was just for fun, I didn't even know I could sing that well!"

Ever since her voice was discovered, she has been involved in many competitions. Starting with winning her school's talent show in 2009, followed shortly by being asked to perform at a charity show. Reflecting on this, Amy expresses "After my performance, I realised that my dream could in fact be acheived."

 

Amy's ability to share her gift with others is not due to chance, one of her favourite mottos in life is "If opportuinty doesn't knock; build a door". Adhering to this, Amy partcipated in Open Mic UK concert where acts were chosen by Simon Cowell to come sing for his YOU GENERATION project. The project aims to promote up and coming self-made artists. She adds "I didn't know it was him and after I sung, the stage wall collapsed and he came and gave me a hug." Succeeding this, Amy was asked to partner her YOUTUBE account With YOU GEN. and Base79.

 

Amy first recorded "With A Smile" in 2011, but in December 2013 decided to re-record the song as "my voice had  improved dramatically over the last 2 years and as it is one of my favourites and my friend had asked me to be the lead singer in a music video she was filming for her A-Levels I concluded that it was definitely worthwhile."

The single was written by her father in memory of her Grandfather. He tells "it is primarily concerned with the 'being' and 'absence' of an extremely important relative in your life and how to cope once they are gone and to recognise that they are present in spirit."

The music video for "With A Smile" was released on 19th December 2013.

 

Amy continues to strive for excellence in her upcoming travels to USA where she will have work experience in California where she will be able to work with fellow musicians.
